ABOUT CHRISTOPHER SCHMIDT NY-21
Meet Christopher

BACKGROUND & VALUES
My mission is to serve the people of New York’s 21st District with honesty, independence, and common sense. I believe government should protect freedom, lower the cost of living, and work for everyday people—not party bosses, corporate donors, or political insiders. I am committed to listening first, solving real problems, and defending the rights and dignity of every person in our district. My goal is simple: practical solutions that strengthen our communities, respect working people, and put NY-21 first
PRIOR EXPERIENCE & MISSION
I’m an organizer, advocate, and working-class independent who believes real change comes from the ground up. I’ve spent years advocating for criminal justice reform, equal and fair voting districts, and the protection of fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. I believe accountability, transparency, and equal treatment under the law are essential to a healthy democracy.
Outside of advocacy, I’m a hard-working day laborer who understands firsthand the realities of living paycheck to paycheck and the dignity of honest work. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and working alongside others from different backgrounds—because real solutions come from listening, learning, and building together. I’m running for Congress to bring that same work ethic, independence, and respect for freedom to Washington, on behalf of the people of NY-21.
MISSION STATEMENT
Local First
I believe in a local-first, America-first approach that puts the people of NY-21 at the center of every decision. That means our tax dollars, policies, and priorities should serve our communities before anyone else. I want a truly engaged district—one where residents aren’t talked at, but listened to; not managed from Washington, but empowered at home. By elevating local voices, encouraging civic participation, and keeping decision-making close to the people it affects, we can build a stronger, more connected NY-21 that works for those who live and work here.
